What is the purpose of this project?
The purpose of the project is to construct storm drainage improvements that address and reduce the risk of structural flooding in the area by improving street conveyance and sheet flow and providing detention, as needed, for mitigation. The benefitted area of the project includes the Garden Oaks and Shepherd Park Plaza subdivisions.


How long is this project going to take to complete?

28 months (835 calendar days). Work is scheduled to begin on Monday, August 30, 2021 and anticipated to be completed on Fall 2023. The project schedule depends upon weather conditions

    How is access handled for houses on a culdesac/circle with only one entrace/exit route. Will we lose access, or have to park and walk to get to our house?

    Howdy Neighbor! Thank you for your questions! The contractor will have a flagger during construction at the entrance directing residents in and out of the cul-de-sac. Driveway access will be maintained during underground construction unless the contractor is preparing the street and/or pavement.

    Your Tree Inventory list shows that my Tree #504 is a PINE in FAIR condition. It is a 38-year old OAK tree-in GOOD condition. Will this change your Treatment/Mitigation for this tree?

    Howdy Neighbor! Thank you for your question! The work proposed should not affect the tree in subject. There will only be minor root trimming if the roots are in conflict with the sidewalk installation.

    Where can I find more details of the root shaving plans for trees that were marked as such? I have reviewed the Tree Protection Plan but it is not clear. Which arborist are you working with for trees that will be modified?

For additional information regarding tree pruning, please refer to the project webpage and review the tree protection plan on sheet 22, detail number two.     When will the final pavement work be completed in the intersection area of Fisher and Golf? All work has been completed in this area but the final blacktop has not yet been installed.

    Howdy Neighbor! Thank you for your question! Majority of the work in this area has been completed with the exception of the installation of the blacktop overlay. The contractor is also finalizing ditch work in that area. Once the work is completed, the contractor will begin the last overlay. The overlay process will be completed by the end of next month dependent on weather conditions and any unforeseen circumstances.

    Who is the concrete company installing the driveways etc in Garden Oaks by Golf?

    Total Contracting Limited is the contractor performing the major work in Garden Oaks. There are also private builders in the area working which is not related to our project.

    Hi It’s mentioned in another question about not being able to access driveways for 21 days. Does that mean we need to street park for 21 days outside our house or have to park outside of the construction zone? Thanks

    Howdy neighbor!  Per the contractor, they plan on beginning there in Q2 of 2023 but that might change due to many factors related to construction.

    When will the construction reach Golf & Chamboard Ln and will we be able to get into our driveways during the disruption?

    The construction will reach Golf and Chamboard in the 4th quarter of 2022. The residents will have access to the their driveways while contractor is installing underground work. Once the contractor begin to pour concrete for street and driveways, the residents will not have access to their driveways for 21 days.
