✏️ Design Phase & Community Engagement

Shaping the Vision: Where Design Meets Community

The project is currently in the design phase, where planners, engineers, and stakeholders collaborate to develop detailed plans that reflect community priorities, technical requirements, and long-term city goals. This phase is critical—it’s where ideas take shape and become actionable solutions.

During this stage, our team is:

  • Evaluating current site conditions and infrastructure

  • Developing conceptual and schematic designs

  • Conducting environmental and traffic impact assessments

  • Coordinating with utility agencies and city departments

  • Gathering community input to inform the final design

The design process is iterative, meaning feedback matters. Your voice helps shape not just the look and function of the project—but how it serves residents now and for generations to come.

🤝 Your Voice, Our Priority: Public Engagement in the Design Phase

The Public Engagement Team plays an active role in ensuring the project reflects community needs and values. This is the best time to influence the project—before construction begins.

Here’s what you can expect from us:

  • Community Meetings & Open Houses
We host in-person and virtual events where residents can view draft designs, ask questions, and provide input on layout, safety features, landscaping, and more.

  • Surveys & Interactive Tools
Online surveys, map-based comment tools, and story maps will be available to capture feedback from a broad audience.

  • Stakeholder Interviews
Our team is connecting with neighborhood groups, businesses, schools, and faith-based organizations to ensure we understand the unique needs of each area.

  • Multilingual Outreach
Materials and engagement events are available in English, Spanish, and Vietnamese to ensure inclusivity across Houston’s diverse communities.

🛠️ What’s Next?

This page will be updated as the design advances. Check back for:

Together, we’re not just designing infrastructure—we’re designing a better future. Your input during this phase helps us create a project that works for everyone.
