DETAILS This project provides for the construction of concrete driveways, medians, sidewalks, bicycle facilities, storm water, water lines, wastewater, street lighting, traffic signals, and necessary underground utilities, and upgrading the necessary intersections, improvement of drainage and upgrade of the existing roadway to Major Thoroughfare & Freeway Plan (MTFP) standards. The contract time for the subproject is 540 calendar days.

    Currently, two-way traffic is in place on the southbound side of Lockwood Drive and the westbound side of Navigation Boulevard, while construction continues on the northbound side of Lockwood and the eastbound side of Navigation Boulevard.

    WHAT

    Traffic Lane Changes from the northbound lanes of Lockwood Drive.

    WHEN

    September 30th, 2024.
    WHY Stormwater System Installation and Paving
    UPDATE The contractor is currently working at the intersection of Navigation and South Lockwood. On Monday, September 30, 2024, traffic will be shifted to begin construction on the northbound lanes of Lockwood Drive. This adjustment will direct traffic into the southbound lanes, while still providing access to two Metro Bus Stop Stations:


    • Lockwood Dr & Crites St
    • Lockwood Dr & Navigation Blvd (SW Corner) (previously located near Suburban St & Lockwood Dr)

    The project is 12% complete and currently on schedule. The contractor is currently working on the southbound side of Lockwood Dr. We are in the final stages of completing the stormwater lines on the southbound side and have also begun the process of laying down the concrete pavement. Our objective is to finish the southbound side of Lockwood Dr by the end of Spring 2024. Currently, the northbound side of Lockwood Dr accommodates two-way traffic, while the southbound side remains closed.
