Why This Project Matters

The Easthaven to Southeast Wastewater Treatment Plant – Package 2 Project will improve how wastewater is moved through the city. It helps make sure our neighborhoods stay safe, clean, and prepared for the future.

1. Replaces Old Pipes with Bigger, Stronger Ones
The City is installing new 42-inch and 54-inch wastewater pipes underground. These larger pipes can handle more flow and help prevent backups or overflows, especially during storms or heavy use.

2. Uses Construction Methods That Minimize Disruption
The new pipes will be installed using a tunneling method under the roads along Fuqua Street and Monroe Road. This means less noise, dust, and traffic disruptions for people who live and work nearby.

3. Helps Prevent Sewer Problems
By upgrading to larger, more reliable pipes, the City is reducing the chances of clogs, overflows, and expensive emergency repairs.

4. Protects Health and the Environment
The project ensures wastewater is safely carried to the treatment plant. This protects local waterways and helps the City meet environmental regulations.
