  • Share At tonight’s meeting at the Linkwood Community Centre, Mr. Michael Ereti advised that this project includes not only the reconstruction of Westridge streets but also the replacement of waterlines underneath the streets, however , this is not in the “ details” of the CIP on the web page . Please confirm that the waterlines will be replaced underneath the streets on reconstruction . Perhaps include this information in the details of the CIP online as well . Ready, Set, ENGAGE!

Thank you for contacting Engagehouston.org. We appreciate your interest in our ongoing infrastructure project. Our team is working hard to enhance the overall infrastructure of the area by replacing waterlines in coordination with drinking water operations and removing and replacing all curbs, gutters, and driveway aprons. Additionally, we will replace all storm sewer lines within the pavement in coordination with Stormwater Operations.

To further improve the area, we will install new sidewalks on both sides of the streets, a new streetlight system and poles, and new concrete pavement. These upgrades will ensure the safety and convenience of all residents and visitors.

    We appreciate your support!

  • Share Since the storm sewer drainage starts phase 1, does that include street drain. And if so, the street replace is in phase 3, won’t the streets be affected during phase 1? We value your engagement on this project!

The street will not be affected in Phase 1. Phase 1 is the re-habilitate/ re-line of the existing 120-inch storm sewer which involves no installation of new pipe or excavation. In addition, all relining work will be performed from inside of the pipe while the storm system stays in place.   Phases 2 and 3 will involve the removal and replacement of all curbs, gutter, and driveway aprons. In addition, all existing storm drainage pipes and inlets within the reconstructed street right-of-way will be removed and replaced. New sidewalks on both sides of the streets, new streetlight system and poles, and new concrete pavement will be installed to enhance the overall infrastructure of the area. New waterlines will be installed to enhance water delivery service. Please subscribe to the project page for more project updates as they become available.

  • Share I am writing to request clarifications of HPW Asst. Director Michael Ereti's statements from Westridge Civic Association meeting on Tuesday January 23, 2024. He said we "are getting a drainage project that's not under a street" and only Phase 1 is considered the drainage project (which is the trunkline pipe not located in our subdivision) and confirmed 100 percent to us in the meeting that we would get our drainage pipes replaced under our streets. However, the new project site does not document his promise of storm drainage pipes slated to be replaced under each street in our Westridge subdivision and Westridge annex. 1. When will this new project website be updated to document this project includes added (or replaced cast iron) storm drainage pipes under our streets to remediate water pooling as Mr. Areti assured us in the meeting ? 2. Please clarify by listing all installations other than phase 1 that HPW will under each subdivision streets to improve and remediate the current pooling and drainage after small rain events of every street of our neighborhood BEFORE the new cosmetic concrete surface, curbs, inlet/outlet, new water delivery pipes, streetlights and sidewalks will be installed. on Facebook Share I am writing to request clarifications of HPW Asst.
