The project is under design by a consultant at HR Green, Inc. The preliminary phase includes drainage analysis of existing and proposed conditions, 30% roadway design, and the selection of the detention site. The preliminary engineering phase is 95% complete. The findings of the preliminary design were presented to the City of Houston in a Technical Review Committee meeting on March 7, 2024. The consultant is making final updates to the Preliminary Engineering Report based on the comments received in the meeting. Final Design will include finalizing design elements, producing final construction drawings, securing necessary permits, and addressing preparation for real estate acquisition and easement documents. The design phase started in Fall 2022, and the anticipated completion is Spring 2025. Construction will be from Fall 2025 to Fall 2027.
