    Dear Sanscott,


    Thank you for your question. The flood control work in the Inwood Forest area is a Harris County Flood Control District (HCFCD) initiative rather than a City of Houston project. According to HCFCD, the White Oak Bayou Federal Flood Damage Reduction Project was completed as of Q1 2026. For questions regarding grass installation or site restoration related to that work, we encourage you to contact HCFCD directly.

    The City of Houston's Inwood Forest Area Drainage and Paving Project is a separate initiative, currently scheduled to begin construction in Winter 2028 with an anticipated completion date of Winter 2031. We appreciate your patience and your engagement with the project.

    The project is now anticipated to begin in Spring 2026. A Virtual Community Meeting will be scheduled closer to the start of construction to share important details and answer questions.
