  • Share It seems installation of the drainage pipe and water lines along Tuam St. has been done for several months now, but the street remains a one-way, unpaved, muddy mess. We appreciate your interest in the 72-Inch Water Line from Crawford to Mt. Vernon project. The paving operation is actively forming and pouring paving on the south side of Tuam from Hamilton to Crawford. Thank you for your time and patience.

Howdy Neighbor! Thank you for your question! Please note that restorations will occur at the end of construction for those negatively impacted by the ongoing project and requesting additional contact, please contact 3-1-1 so we can follow up with your request.

  • Share Reference my last question, please provide the detailed schedule for the Hawthorne, Garrott and Emerson construction. The City plan stated Fall 2023. Contractor has started yet indicates this is not the water line, only peripheral stoarm drain works. This leads to access cutoff Fall 2022 and again in 2023! If this is the case, it is difficult to understand how the City has allowed this two years of access cut-off (no access to driveways, paths or ability to take trash out). Please take action to confirm the plan, assess the impact and mitigate disruption. on Facebook Share Reference my last question, please provide the detailed schedule for the Hawthorne, Garrott and Emerson construction. Howdy neighbor! The work taking place along Kipling, Audubon, and Emerson is relocation of the small diameter utilities that is required before the installation of the 72-Inch Water Line (Small Diameter Water Line, Sanitary and Storm). This work will require the closure of one lane of traffic along these streets, and access will be provided to the driveways along this alignment. All driveway reconstruction will be coordinated with the residents once the time comes to remove and replace the driveways.

Howdy Neighbor, Harper Brothers Construction has begun on Emerson with saw cuts on road getting ready for storm and wastewater lines lines. The contractor has also excavated for installation to begin on 9/16/22. Road work signs crossing Montrose were placed in the working area the week of 9/4/22 to designate the work area.

Thank you for your question. Due to the existing site constraints such as the existence of matured trees, exposed and widespread root systems, existing landscapes, and the close proximity of existing buildings, a variance was approved by the Office of the City Engineer to replace the existing 4-foot sidewalks with the same width and maintain uniformity along the route. The proposed sidewalks will be in compliance with Texas Accessibility Standards and consistent with the American with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Thank you for your questions. The contractor is expected to be on board June 2022. Once we have the contractor on board, we can provide the construction schedules and sequence. This Project will be constructed in small sections or block by block. Please check the project webpage and subscribe to  get updates on the project.
