Project Update

West Belt Grade Separation – Navigation/Commerce and York/Sampson Railroad Crossing Elimination Projects Houston Public Works is currently in the process of getting the Design Consultant under contract for the Navigation/Commerce and York/Sampson railroad crossing elimination projects. Once the Design Consultant is on board, we will begin coordination meetings with the property owners who may be impacted by the projects. We anticipate those meetings to start in the Winter of 2024. Our plan is to listen to property owners’ operational needs and to provide an opportunity for input at the preliminary stage of the design. The goal is to move forward with a final design that will minimize the impact to private property while meeting the goals of the projects.
