Hello, Are there any plans to put street lighting and most important trash cans on the completed street? The amount of trash has reached a concerning level due to high traffic of people and construction workers littering. There not 1 trash can for the members of the community in the entire area. Thank you for your feedback

    besparano asked 12 months ago

Thank You for contacting Engage Houston. The project does not propose the installation of new street lights or installation of trash receptacles. We have notified the project team to have the construction crews clean up behind themselves. Thank you!

Hello, Are there any plans to slow down the car traffic on Center Street? Even with the ongoing construction, drivers are considering this street a race track. Thank you.

    stefan.sievers asked 12 months ago

Howdy Neighbor! Thank you for your question! Please look into the Neighborhood Traffic Management Program (NTMP), the purpose is to improve the neighborhood quality of life by implementing “Traffic Calming” measures to reduce excessive vehicular speeds and cut-through traffic on neighborhood street https://www.houstonpublicworks.org/multi-modal-safety-and-design.

The intersection of East 2nd St and Height Blvd was left with a poor road transition where now there is a big unleveled pavement on it. Is there a plan to fix this? Thank you!

besparano asked about 1 year ago

Howdy Neighbor! This will be overlaid with Type D asphalt surface course. There are multiple transitions on this project and will be done in groups. East 2nd street is included in the first group. We anticipate paving the first group in the next few weeks. Thanks

Since construction started after the meeting was held and phase 2 started before phase 1, when will Wagner street (phase 1) start and be completed? Thank you?

ConcernedNeighbor asked almost 2 years ago

Thank you for your question. The current construction schedule indicates that work along Wagner will be completed close to the end of November 2022.

Myself and many of my neighbors on Center Street and Wager were wondering why the trees were cut down so early in the project when the timeline/schedule indicates the work would not start until next year. Will the street remain treeless until late 2023 or is the project being run at a different timeline than that on the documentation provided?

linbed asked almost 2 years ago

The project drawings for this project designate trees for removal within the project limits. Contractor elected to remove all trees designated for removal at the beginning of the project. The project is currently on schedule. Contractor will install all proposed trees towards the end of the project.

Will there be improvements done to the roads between Studemont and Sawyer? They need to be repaved, lines drawn for safety. Old rails removed. Will Union Pacific improve the crossings affected in this improvement project?

IDelgado72 asked about 2 years ago

The Houston Heights, John Brashear, and Memorial Heights Paving and Drainage Improvements Project (N-210001-0001) does not include improvements to areas east of Studemont at this time.

Do l have to move my plants that are in the way of the new side walk

Jesus S Cervantes asked about 2 years ago

If you have specific landscaping that you would like to be saved, we suggest that property owners relocate such plant materials now. Grass will be restored in areas upon completion of all construction.
