    Ready...Set...ENGAGE!

We're excited to announce some upcoming changes along Taft Street to improve safety and accessibility for everyone. As part of these improvements, we'll be adding better pavement markings and signage, along with reducing the pavement width to allow for 5-to-6-foot sidewalks on each side, a safety buffer between the traffic lane and sidewalk, and a dedicated bike lane. These changes are in line with the City of Houston’s Infrastructure Design Manual for November 2023. The proposed bike lane along Taft Street will be bi-directional, providing a safer and more convenient route for cyclists. Thank you for your support as we work to enhance the safety and usability of Taft Street!
