To complete this work safely and effectively, water service will be temporarily shut off throughout the project area on Tuesday, July 1, from 9:00 PM to 3:00 AM.
We understand that this may cause inconvenience and recommend storing water in advance for drinking, cooking, and other household needs.

Why This Project Matters
The Arlington Heights Area - Subproject 1 project is a comprehensive infrastructure upgrade that improves safety, mobility, and utility reliability for the community. Here’s why it’s important:
1. Improves Safety
New sidewalks, curbs, driveway approaches, wheelchair ramps, streetlights, pavement markings, and permanent signage will create a safer environment for pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers.
2. Reduces Flooding
Upgraded stormwater drainage lines are designed to better manage rainfall and reduce the risk of street and property flooding—an ongoing concern in this area of Houston.
3. Enhances Mobility
Paving improvements and clearly marked streets will enhance traffic flow and access throughout the neighborhood, supporting smoother commutes and local travel.
4. Upgrades Critical Utilities
The project includes replacement and construction of water and wastewater lines, including a new 12-inch water line along E. Edgebrook Drive using trenchless methods to minimize disruption. These upgrades ensure long-term service reliability.
5. Increases Accessibility
The installation of ADA-compliant wheelchair ramps and improved sidewalks makes the area more accessible for people of all mobility levels, promoting inclusivity in public spaces.
