Our Goal

To ensure that every Houston resident has a voice in shaping our city through open, fair, and meaningful public engagement.

Our Mission

We’re here to keep you informed and involved. Our mission is to connect you with reliable updates, helpful tools, and genuine opportunities to inform the decisions that impact your community.

How Can I Participate?

Every project on Engage Houston has its own ways for you to get involved. Here's how to start:

Step 1: Visit a Project Page

Browse our active projects and choose the one you're interested in. Each page includes opportunities to share your thoughts.

Step 2: Share Your Feedback

You can participate by:

  • Joining online discussion forums

  • Answering quick polls

  • Completing forms and surveys for projects open to public input

Step 3: Register to Engage

You don’t need an account just to browse, but to actively participate, registration is required.
To register:

  1. Click “Join Engage" at the top right corner of this page

  2. Create a username and password

  3. Answer a few quick questions about yourself

  4. Confirm your email through the link we send

  5. Return and sign in to start engaging!

Why Should I Subscribe to a Project Page?

Subscribing lets you stay in the loop. When you subscribe to a project page, you’ll get project updates as they become available:

  • Project status information is posted

  • Impact alerts are posted

  • Opportunities for feedback open up

What Will Project Updates Include?

Project updates give you a snapshot of progress. Depending on the stage, you might see:

  • The current phase of the project

  • Percentage of completion (for construction projects)

  • Photos showing what’s happening on the ground

  • Announcements about public meetings or new feedback tools

What Happens to My Feedback or Questions?

Your input matters. All comments, ideas, and suggestions are collected and shared with the project team. They help shape decisions, inform strategies, and reflect the community’s priorities.

In many cases, online input is combined with other outreach methods—like surveys, open houses, or public meetings—to form a more complete picture.

When a consultation period ends, your contributions are:

  • Compiled into a report

  • Shared with decision-makers

  • Considered in the final planning or implementation

Note: All comments submitted through Engage Houston become part of the public record and may be visible to others.
